+ About Simon Brewer

Simon knows the pull of the sea; the need for control over a situation and smart, decisive decision making. 

Simon has been qualified for over 30 years as a Chartered Accountant. Simon moved from general practice at PwC to Worthy Trust Company Limited an owner-managed fiduciary business in1994 and has worked at a senior level in the fiduciary services industry ever since.

Simon became managing director of Allied Irish Banks PLC’s fiduciary business (“AIB”) in Jersey in 1999 following the acquisition of Worthy Trust Company Limited, also sitting on the board of AIB Offshore Bank.

In 2007 Simon left AIB to join Sanne Group, at the time a small independent owner-managed trust company as Head of the Private Client division. Simon played a significant role at Sanne and in its growth into a company listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, including being one of three management directors on the board of the group holding company through various stages of Sanne’s evolution through private equity financing and ultimately the IPO of the business in 2015. Whilst at Sanne, Simon worked closely with some of the world’s wealthiest families and their trusted advisers sitting on the boards of private trust companies, asset holding entities and general partner vehicles, as well as on foundation councils.

Following the IPO Simon acted as a consultant to the Private Client division helping to ensure the smooth transition and succession for the business.

Simon has extensive experience in working in a trustee role with settlors, beneficiaries and protectors across multi generations of families, helping to implement strategies for the effective preservation and enhancement of wealth for current and future generations. Simon is appreciated by his clients for his extensive experience, calm and analytical approach to dealing with issues, his attention to detail and his relationship-driven approach to his role.

Since July 2019, Simon has been a Governor of the 'Friends of Malindi Bright Future Academy', a Jersey charity funding, and now building, a new school in Kenya for over 300 pupils.


+ Qualifications

Simon graduated from Liverpool University in 1986 with a BA Honours degree in Accounting. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 with PwC and became a Fellow of the ICAEW in 1999. Simon has also been a member of STEP since 1997. Simon was ranked in 2018 by Citywealth as one of the “World’s Top 20 trustees”.

Simon is passionate about island life; passionate about the water. He brings his experience of global finance to his role as an independent Non-Executive Director for GB Surfing, whose long-term objective is to place a British surfer on the podium at The Olympics.

Simon spends his spare time keeping healthy and staying fit enjoying a variety of sports including surfing, running and skiing. Simon and his family have been very involved in the local surf community and has travelled extensively with the GB and Channel Island surf teams which members of his family have also surfed for. In his ‘youth’, Simon was a ghillie and a keen salmon and trout fisherman. He loves travel and the great outdoors.
